Setup Instructions for Fields with Football Lines

  1. LINES: Mark all solid white lines shown in the field diagram above and described below. The dashed white lines shown in the diagram above are for reference and do not need to be marked.
    • Playing Field Boundary
      • 35 by 60 yards
      • For lacrosse endlines, use football sidelines.
      • For lacrosse sidelines, use midline of football endzone and the 30 yard line
      • At a minimum, mark the four corners with tall cones
      • Optionally, mark the endlines and sidelines with short cones
    • Centerline
      • For the lacrosse centerline, use the midline of the football field
      • Mark the centerline with short cones or tape
    • Wing Area Lines
      • For the Wing Area Lines, use the intersection of the 0 and 25 yard lines with the midline of the football field
      • Mark the Wing Area Lines with short cones or tape
      • 5 yards in length (2.5 yards to each side of the centerline)
  2. GOALS:
    • Place the opening of each goal along the base of the football numbers, centered at 12-1/2 yards.
    • Goal Line Extended (GLE) is an immaginary line along the base of the football numbers
  3. CREASES:
    • Mark the creases using portable creases or cones
  4. TABLE AREA:
    • Mark the Table Area boundary with a line of cones at 7 yards to both sides of the centerline
    • Place the Timer Table (if you have one) behind the 35 yard line
  5. TEAM AREA BOUNDARY:
    • Mark the Team Area boundary with a line of cones along the 35 yard line
  6. Spectator Area:
    • Instruct all spectators to sit/stand behind the end zone (5 yards back from the playing field boundary)
    • Aside from the Table area and Coaches Areas, the 5 yards around the circumference of the field shall remain clear for player safety. The imaginary line that demarks this area is called the limit line. It is shown as a dashed line in the diagram.
